The Camino de Santiago is the renowned pilgrimage route that leads to the shrine of St. James in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This particular trek covers the Portuguese section of the beloved and well-traversed trek, launching from Porto, the country’s second largest city.
You trek along rugged Atlantic coastline and through fishing villages, vineyards and forests, before reaching the River Minho. End in Tui, Spain, or continue to Santiago and the formal end of the Camino.
Expect to trek anywhere from six to eight hours a day—but always at your leisure, over mostly flat terrain. Taxi transfers are available on order, should you not want to make the full walk each day.
