Days 1-2: Discovering the natural world from recreational centre INBio Parque before walking an interpretive trail by way of an introduction to Costa Rica's natural marvels
Days 3-4: Travelling back in time to Sarchi, a village renowned for its colourful oxcarts and wooden handicrafts; sleeping near the famous Arenal Volcano for a dip in the Baldi Hotsprings and horseback riding around the volcano's hills
Days 5-6: Driving across rustic rural countryside to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve area, covered in a mantle of moss, ferns and orchids; exploring the forest for 320 bird species, including the iconic quetzal
Days 7-10: Journeying to the Manuel Antonio National Park, an unspoiled haven of natural beauty on the shores of the Pacific, to enjoy a leisurely walk along grassy trails and white-sand beaches while spotting monkeys, iguanas, sea creatures and bird life
