The land of mysticism and rugged rolling hills. New Zealand’s incredible South Island is one of the adventure capitals of the world, and this two-week tour explores it all in fitting style.
You will traverse the island north to south, taking in some of its best cycling and hiking routes—including the West Coast Wilderness Trail and Franz Josef Glacier.
You’ll have time to meander around the world adventure capital of Queenstown, as well as cruise around Milford Sound. And with a support vehicle along route you can bike as little or as much as you want.
Days 1-3: Biking Macleans Island, exploring Pancake Rocks, the West Coast Wilderness Trail and Franz Josef Glacier
Days 4-6: Going for a gentle ride along Hawea River Track, then crossing the epically scenic route to Gibbston River before settling in at Queenstown for a rest
Days 7-10: Enjoying the thrill of backwoods biking along the Von River before finding the jaw-dropping views of Mitre Peak and the jagged granite mountains around it, which some call the most picturesque mountain range in New Zealand
Days 11-14: Launching from the limestone-heavy North Otago to the beautiful azure lakes of Ohau and Pukaki, meeting the so-called "cloud piercer" mountain—Mt. Cook—and capping it all off with a farewell dinner fitting for a team of cyclists
