Head to northeast Vancouver Island for some of the best orca and grizzly bear viewing on the continent!
Spend several days kayaking in Johnstone Strait in search of orcas and humpback whales, then camp on shore under hypnotically starry skies. Take a full-day boat trip to Knight Inlet in hopes of seeing the infamous grizzly bear. No kayaking experience is necessary, but moderate fitness is recommended.
Days 1-2: Arriving in Vancouver and taking a rental car across to Nanaimo before driving four hours north to Port McNeil
Days 3-5: Revelling with three days and three nights of kayaking in Johnstone Strait looking for orcas in the water
Day 6: Riding a boat to Knight Inlet to witness grizzly bears in their natural habitat
Day 7: Driving back to Nanaimo to catch the ferry back to Vancouver
