The Annapurna Sanctuary is rightly recognized as one of the most breathtakingly beautiful trekking areas on the planet, with towering snowcapped Himalayan peaks rising high over deep, verdant valleys.
This trek begins in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, where you'll visit the city's most beautiful temples before spending two weeks trekking the Annapurna Circuit. Reach the Base Camps of both Machapuchare and Annapurna, hike the glacial Modi Khola River Gorge, pass local villages and natural hot springs with outstanding scenery at every turn before returning to the tranquil Nepalese capital.
Days 1-2: Arrive in the lively city of Kathmandu, browse through the many vibrant market stalls and explore the city's ancient temples. Traverse an ancient stone pilgrim stairway leading up to the Swayambhunath Temple, accompanied by some of Nepal's most common wildlife—the macaque monkeys.
Days 3-6: Trek through the lush trails and valleys from Pokhara to Naya Pol while enjoying traditional meals cooked by Napalese hosts; indulge in the famous baked goods
Day 7-10: Finish off the forest hikes and begin immersing yourself with the mountainous scenery, including the peaks of Annapurna, before jetting off to Annapurna Base Camp for some of the finest views in the world, replete with canyons and wateralls.
Day 11-12: Enjoy your final few days by getting the chance to relax and explore the lakeside cafes, museums or local restaurants where fish is a speciality, before packing your bags and saying farewell to the Himalayas.
